Description

The Chinese aster - as you can deduce both from its scientific as well as from its common name - originates in China. Under natural growing conditions in the Netherlands, the China Aster flowers in late summer. The development of new varieties and the use of modern cultivation methods, however, allow this crop to be grown and harvested over a longer period than was possible with former cultivars. In recent years, the Bonita series is being grown more and more widely. The pompon flowers of this series have a strikingly full inflorescence and the plants are resistant to Fusarium.
