Penstemon hartwegii
Description
This large-flowered perennial species develops mostly red panicles of up to 1 metre that provide a spectacular colour accent to borders. The flowering period may last extremely long, from july until october. The flowers are also good cut flowers. In our part of the world, P. hartwegii is only partly hardy. In sheltered positions that are not too wet in winter, these perennials will continue to grow for many years.
